mlaIn February, this blog and its author were recognized for three separate awards. At the RSA Security conference in San Francisco, KrebsOnSecurity.com was voted the “Most Educational Security Blog” at the Security Bloggers Meetup (for the second year in a row). The judges at the meetup also gave KrebsOnSecurity.com the honor of the “Best Blog Post of the Year,” for my reporting on the Adobe breach.

Separately, I am honored to have received the Mary Litynsky Award for Protecting the Online Community, a lifetime achievement recognition given by the Messaging, Malware and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group. M3AAWG’s announcement about the award is here. Past recipients of this award are listed here.

Congratulations Brian, well deserved. I’m been amazed at your thoroughness of all your reports. Thank you.

Congratulations on the awards. While many news sources post the same article over and over with minor changes, you take the time to actually dig into the core issues and the sources which adds a very unique and appreciated level of depth often missing in today’s journalism. I think many news organizations simply care about the advertising and owner’s spin factor without answering the basic question of why this happened or what allowed it to happen – most of the public doesn’t seem to have the curiosity to ask these questions but others do and that is who really enjoys following your articles. Keep up the good work!

    Impressed but not surprised. 😉

Your blog is my go-to place for all Information Security news as well as being referenced in almost every presentation I do for anyone.

I hope you have many more years of tracking down the online fraudsters and showing us the darker side of the Internet.

    Well done.

Awe Krebby, so proud of you.
Why don’t you tell them how much fun we had calling your cell phone, you know, about to swat the RSA conference and stuff :).

I believe it was … magically … fun.

Congratulations, Brian! You do an amazing job, particularly for those of us who are not tech-saavy (like me). You deserve all the awards they can give you!

Speaking as a non-professional in the industry, I appreciate the fact that you are able to reduce complicated explanations to understandable wording. Keep up the great work!
